An enormously empathetic performer... The show’s great asset is Davis. This really is a very complex performance…

Welcome! You're in the right place.

E.M. Davis here — I am a trans/non-binary (he/they) actor and proud member of Actors Equity and SAG-AFTRA who moved from Chicago to Los Angeles in 2024!

Since arriving on the West Coast, I’ve become the first openly trans actor to play both “Maurice Duclos” in Noël Coward’s Fallen Angels (Little Fish Theatre) and “Frog” in Heidi Schreck’s magnificent Grand Concourse (Dezart Performs)the latter for which I received a regional Best Supporting Actor nomination! Before that, I was in the acclaimed Pasadena Playhouse production of Cyrano de Bergerac (starring Chukwudi Iwuji, Rosa Salazar and directed by Mike Donahue) and have developed and performed new plays with Son of Semele, The Blank Theatre, and the upcoming New Art City Theatre Festival.

Meanwhile, onscreen projects I’ve recently wrapped include 40 Years in the Desert (UCLA), By the Devil’s Side (New York Film Academy), and the independent feature I Was Listening.

A recipient of the inaugural Sarah Siddons Society Professional Development Grant, I have also had the pleasure of working regionally with South Coast Repertory, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Goodman Theatre, Colorado New Play Festival, Northlight Theatre, and A Red Orchid Theatre, among others. Screen credits include working opposite T.L. Thompson and Brittany Adebumola in The CW's 4400, being one of the faces of the JobsOhio campaign during March Madness, and having the story of my transition featured in the documentary I Am Me.

After my successful tenure as Artistic Director of the award-winning Broken Nose Theatre, I expanded my focus to producing films as well. The first self-funded short, I'm Pretty Sure My Therapist Thinks I'm a Bad Actor, in which I star opposite Elizabeth Laidlaw (CBS's The Red Line), made its West Coast Premiere at Dances with Films LA, received Best Comedy Short (FunnyAF Festival) and Best Writing in a Comedy (Micheaux Film Festival), and was featured at the Midwest Film Festival’s Emerging Filmmakers Night. My second self-produced short, How’d It Go, directed by Laidlaw and featuring SAG Ensemble Winner Jose Cervantes (FX's The Bear), is currently in post-production.

Take a look around. Enjoy your stay.
